DTS is hosting a NEW “Total Soccer” class led by Coach Damian Jonkers for boys & girls ages 9-12 at Soccer Centers in Somerset, NJ. This session will make players more versatile this Winter by ensuring they have modern technical and tactical skills to be successful at any area and position on the pitch! This session is recommended for travel and advanced level players.
What is taught in class:
Technical Skills
Players will learn dribbling techniques and skill moves such as: Scissor, Step Over, Drag Back, Cruyff Turn, L-Move, V-Move & More! Throughout the session players will learn to combine multiple moves & skills to off-balance defenders and have the advantage as the attacker in 1v1 situations.
Shooting/Scoring
This class will give players a crash course in essential shooting techniques with BOTH feet. Players will review the 7 steps to striking the ball and will work extensively on converting scoring opportunities when presented. Additionally, players will learn to take “quicker shots” & become more dynamic in shooting situations.
1v1, 2v1 Pressure Situations
A main goal of the class is improving individual skills and teamwork! In 1v1 & 2v1 drills, players focus on their dribbling, speed, and decision-making abilities. Players will improve their communication, passing, and combination play.
Creating Numbers
By creating numbers, teams can overwhelm their opponents, create passing options, and increase their chances of scoring. This can be achieved through quick ball movement, intelligent runs, and effective communication. Creating numbers requires players to be aware of their surroundings and make smart decisions on the field.
