Premier level, age 13-16. Goalkeepers in this course have shown a high level of understanding of the goalkeeper position and are able to meet the highest standards set forth by our goalkeeper coaching staff. The curriculum will consist of high intensity positioning drills, game like situations, 1 on 1 plays, communication and much more. Within this class, aside from showing a natural ability to perform, goalkeepers also have to show an understanding of goalkeeping philosophy.
The class will focus on these premier skills for level appropriate goalkeepers:
-Catching (Strong & Accurate Strikes)
-Tipping/Punch (When To Punch Ball & When To Chip Over Crossbar)
-Premier Positioning In Net (Attacking the Ball, Anticipation)
-Hand/Feet Distribution
-Reactions / Reflexes / Anticipation
-Diving
-Break Away’s
-Building Out From Back/Passing
-Leadership/Communication
